Salisbury District Hospital is managed by Salisbury ¿´Æ¬Èí¼þ Foundation Trust and, as a Foundation Trust, reports to , the Independent Regulator. Information about the Regulator can be found on its website.
Foundation Trusts are mutual organisations, where local people, patients and staff can become members and governors and hold the Trust to account through the Council of Governors . The Council of Governors provides a link between patients and the public and the Trust Board and is made up of elected public and staff governors, and governors appointed by the Trust from other organisations.
The general range of services provided by the hospital is mainly commissioned by Wiltshire, West Hampshire and Dorset Clinical Commissioning Groups, although other neighbouring Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) will commission our services from time to time.
The Trust is also a specialist regional centre for plastic surgery, burns, cleft lip and palate and genetics and provides a specialist service for people across much of southern England who have a spinal cord injury. The Trust has around 470 beds.
Each year managers from Salisbury District Hospital and the CCGs review the number of people the hospital is expected to treat during the year and agree the amount of money CCGs will pay the Trust to provide this level of treatment.
