| Question Number 1: I am trying to ascertain the level of counselling support available in different hospital Trusts in the South West for termination of pregnancy services. Are you able to give me any information on any psychological support that you offer to this patient group please e.g. do you offer counselling pre and post abortion and if so do you have one counsellor or a team and how many sessions are offered? | |
| Answer To Question 1: Our wider Trust and our sexual health service isn鈥檛 commissioned to provide termination of pregnancy services in Salisbury or across Wiltshire. Local TOP services are currently provided by BPAS and Marie Stopes. Nurses and doctors in our service are happy to speak with clients considering TOP but they are then referred or signposted to the above TOP providers We have links to Clinical Psychology in the Trust for sexual-health related referrals and provide some in -house IPM psychosexual therapy but not counselling specifically for pre and post TOP | |
