Request Summary: Open MRIs
Request Category: Media
Question Number 1: The number of referrals for Open MRIs for patient size (not claustrophobia) authorised by your Trust in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and until June 1, 2024.
Answer To Question 1: Referrals come into the Trust through multiple departments, this information is not available in an easily reportable format.
Question Number 2: Total remuneration for open MRI scans for patient size including staffing and MFF for the same time frame as above.
Answer To Question 2: The Trust does not keep records of patients who are not scanned because they exceed our weight limits. The referrer takes responsibility for identifying an alternative service provider or alternative test. Numbers will be extremely small now as our MRI weight limit for example is now 250kg.
Question Number 3: A single total figure for how much the Trust has spent on specialist bariatric equipment for the same time frame as above.
Answer To Question 3: Data set starts 2019. Year Amount (ex.VAT) 2019 £55,133.15 2020 £37,633.25 2021 £87,655.95 2022 £22,611.40 2023 £16,256.56 2024 £3,559.25
