Some families would like to know why their baby has died.Ìý When you are ready, staff will discuss options to have investigations carried out to try and find out why your baby died or why there were pregnancy complications.Ìý

In some cases, even though we have undertaken all the investigations, there may be no clear cause of death found.
Once the results of these investigations have been reported you will be offered a debrief appointment with your Consultant Obstetrician to see how you are, answer any questions about the events of the pregnancy and birth, discuss any results of investigations and make plans for future pregnancies. It may take 2-3 months for the results to be reported and the appointment to be made.
