The Spires Cleft Centre is one of nine highly specialised cleft units in England. It is a twin-site centre, providing care for all children with cleft lip and/or palate born within the Salisbury and Oxford regions.
The Salisbury Laser Clinic is an integral part of our department and delivers both ¿´Æ¬Èí¼þ and privately-funded treatments for a variety of skin conditions.

Burn Care

We are a regional burns unit, within the , providing care for adult and children with acute burn injuries. We have an extensive multidisciplinary team (MDT) and have close links with our intensive care unit.

Our nursing team provides an outreach community service for patients, as well as providing a 24-hour telemedicine service. We are able to give advice, education (including simulation training) and support, as required, to our primary and secondary care colleagues throughout the region.

The members of our specialist therapy team deliver acute care to our inpatients and provide a comprehensive range of outpatient scar management therapies following burn injury and surgery.

We offer a full complement of surgical options for scar management, including complex microsurgical reconstruction.

Other services provided by our MDT include occupational therapy, physiotherapy, acute and chronic pain, psychology, bespoke scar management garments, Laser, nutrition and dietary advice, and social services.

Our staff at Salisbury District Hospital have long been well regarded for the quality of care and treatment they provide for our patients and for their innovation, commitment and professionalism. This has been recognised in a wide range of achievements and it is reflected in our award of ¿´Æ¬Èí¼þ Foundation Trust status. This is afforded to hospitals that provide the highest standards of care.
